New Normal, Same Jesus

Heavenly Chapel Ministry

Let me introduce myself. My name is Pastor John and I am ordained through the Universal Life Church. That is a non-denominational church, that refuses to adhere to the old school teachings. So does the Heavenly Life Online Church and ministry. We go one step further, however, and we incorporate the Apocryphal books into our teachings. The apocryphal books were removed from the bible because they did not fit in with mainstream teaching from the churches including the Catholic Church, the Baptists, and even the Methodists. My standing is who are they to arbitrarily remove books from the bible?

If these books were in the bible, then they are part of the bible. NO QUESTION. The claim is that they were unable to prove any of the miracles in those books. Those books also include teaching of reincarnation. That does not fit in with the teaching of heaven and hell, and fire and brimstone for those who do not follow the word of GOD. Satan does exist, but the way we are taught in church is that hell is a real place that we go when we do not repent for our sins. That’s not true, but we’ll learn more about that later through my sermons and the lessons on the website because that is not what this sermon is about.

Normally, my sermons will be short, sweet and to the point. Long dragged out sermons do nothing for anyone but end up making them bored, and that is where the word of God is lost on us. Sermons are meant to teach us, not bore us. But then, let us get on with it before I begin to bore you now.

A new normal but the same Jesus. What does that mean? For each of us, it might mean something a little bit different. At Heavenly Chapel, it’s sure a lot different from what the main stream churches are teaching, that’s for sure.

Here’s something for you to think about. YOU ARE REINCARNATED. That’s not today’s sermon, but it’s something you are going to want to add into YOU’RE new normal.

Life today is much different than it was 20 years ago. It’s certainly way more different than it was 50 years ago. We’re going to talk about the new normal and the same Jesus in just a minute, but first, Let’s hear the Lord’s Prayer.

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever.

Amen.

Now let’s talk about the new normal – same Jesus. As we go through life, we see changes. A change for me was becoming a minister. That was never in my plans, but God came calling. Many are wondering, did he really hear God speak? The answer is no. I’ve never gotten the holy ghost, I didn’t break down crying because I had been saved. That may well be the way it happens with some people, but that’s not how it happened with me, but that’s a story for another day, because I don’t believe you have to be “saved”, and I put that in quotes for a reason that I will come to later, because EVERYBOIDY already has Jesus and the Lord. You just have to talk to him God came to me in dreams. He, and your guardian angels come to you in dreams all the time. Sometimes we do have nightmares and other dreams of course. Quite literally, as I once read a character in one of my favorite books say, sometimes dreams are your minds way of clearing your head, and I’ll go a little further to say that dreams serve the purpose of giving you GUIDANCE.

No. I just kept dreaming of building a website, to teach the real word of God to the people. Not everyone will get my beliefs, nor will they believe them, but when you put 2 and 2 togethedr, and you get 4, then it only stands to reason that it must be 4 that is the correct answer. Well, in our church and ministry, when you add up the evidence, including the evidence that the mainstream churches have tried to hide, you will see that everything adds up, and that must make it true.

So, let me ask you again. What is your new normal? In everyday life, we have the new normal of going through security at the airport. We know when we get to the airport, we have to go through certain procedures that we never had to do fifteen years ago. That’s normal now. We may not like it, but that’s our new normal, speaking across the board. You get what I mean, so I don’t have to list similar examples.

So, my new normal is teaching the word of God, teaching you about life, and teaching you to treat others as you would like to be treated. My new normal is doing all the things I would normally do. Taking care of the house and my dogs, helping my wife when she needs me, I enjoy writing about true crime, I love helping people, and so on. What’s your new normal?

I propose that since our new normal changes often, we add to the new normal, and that starts with loving those around us. Instead of ridiculing people, embrace them and let them know that people can be who they want to be. In the bible, God speaks of homosexuality. There is one place where he says that a man having sex with another man is an abomination, or detestable. It is my belief that what he meant was that it is an abomination to RAPE another of the same sex, as the men, young and old tried to do in the city of Sodom.

The bible says absolutely nothing about homosexuality keeping a person out of heaven, and as I already said, there is no hell as we have been taught in the mainstream churches. We’ll learn more about the no hell part of this later. I just want to point out, that mainstream churches try to cast those who are homosexual out, but we embrace them, because at the end of the day, as you will learn in our teachings, we are all here to learn. For more of an explanation on that, read my article here: http://www.heavenlychapel.org/my-beliefs/

SO, at the end of the day, let’s realize that each week, sometimes even each day of our lives carries along with it a new normal. We just have to keep Jesus in it, and carry on with our lives, enjoying our lives the best that we can, while helping others along the way.

It’s been pretty hot lately. I was in the store and there was a man ahead of me who was trying to pay for a six-pack of water. I think he was only a few cents short, thanks to the bottle tax that we pay, and so had to leave the water. I didn’t want to embarrass the man, so I paid for my goods and then followed him outside. I asked him why he was not able to pay for his water. I said, “Did you not have enough money?” and he told me that he was short because of that bottle tax. I told him to follow me. For one thing, for just a few cents the clerk should have allowed him to go on. So I got the water, with the man with me, and I paid for the water on my card. I told the man to put his money away. After paying, I handed him the water and said to the clerk, “It’s 105 degrees outside. You can’t deny someone water when it’s like that.” The clerk just shrugged, and therein lies the problem. She didn’t care, and we must get away from that, so I challenge you, along with the other new normals that add themselves to our lives, to make one of your new normals to be more compassionate with people and to be helpful to them.

If you look to the right on your screen, you will see photos of 2 shirts. The 23rd Psalm and the 10 Commandments. We designed these shirts and they are for sale on Amazon.
